Job Title : Assembler FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Reports to : Supervisor / Manager Department : Assembly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Keep station clean and organized.
  • Check pick list with the components that you have and log qty. and lot # or IR #.
  • Make sure the traveler is signed off from previous process.
  • Check and make sure that you have all the materials that you need to complete this traveler, drawings, furnace process, in-process sheet and assembly drawings.
  • Do a 1st article and submit it to QC.
  • Brush the figures off that you are going to use. Inform supervisor if the fixtures are getting worn.
  • Make sure the furnace profile is the same as on your furnace process sheet.
  • If you have any problems with assembling the part or with the assembly drawing, let your supervisor know.
  • Place the test fixture carefully on the furnace that is on your furnace processing sheet.
  • When the fixture is sealed remove the parts carefully from the fixture and take the traveler and the test parts to QC for approval to run.
  • When 1st article is approved you may start running the fixtures through the furnace.
  • Keep track of the number of fixtures you put in the furnace and what time they should be coming out.
  • If your 1st article is not approved see your supervisor.
  • Do two in-processes a day unless told otherwise by your supervisor. The first fixtures out in the morning and the first fixture out after lunch.
  • Do a visual and a mechanical on the parts and log them on your in-process sheet.
  • If there is a process with your test, tell your supervisor.
  • If QC does the in-process, look at any assembly rejects that where found, so that the problem can be corrected.
  • Have any rejects deglassed if they are necessary to complete the work order.
  • Make sure all the travelers are signed off for any processes that the assemblers have done.
  • Verify counts going to the next process.
  • Make sure all unused components and fixtures are returned to the Inventory or placed on the shelf if it is only a partial.
  • Keep records.
  • On quality of work done each day on each work order.
  • Give supervisor a daily slip on each work order you worked on that day.
  • End of the day
  • Leave your work are clean and organized.

Mathematical Skills : ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and listen. The employee frequently is required to walk and carry product. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs while carrying a load of 10 pounds. Employee will use hands and fingers to feel, squeeze, grip product and tools. The employee is required to push / pull and reach above shoulders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : As the first level of assembly a level 1 assembler will focus on building simpler repetitive jobs until they develop the required measuring and problem-solving skills. Assembler 1 will have the following responsibilities and any other duties that may be assigned.

A. Keep station clean and organized.

C. Make sure the traveler is signed off from previous process.

D. Check and make sure that you have all the materials that you need to complete this traveler, drawings, furnace process, in-process sheet and assembly drawings.
