Keep Production Moving : Foundry Equipment Reliability Mechanic
Picture your day starting with a quick handoff from the night shift. A molding line is throwing alarms, a grinder needs new bearings, and the furnace inspection is due before first pour. You grab your tools, review the work orders, and dive in. By midmorning you have a pneumatic issue diagnosed, a shaft swapped, and a core-making machine ready for production again. That is the impact you will have—every single shift.
What You Will Handle
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment across the foundry : furnaces, molding lines, core-making machines, grinders, conveyors, presses, and automated systems.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Disassemble and rebuild equipment to replace defective parts including bearings, gears, shafts, hydraulic components, and more.
- Fabricate, weld, and machine parts as needed to finish repairs and keep lines running.
- Identify root causes in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using appropriate test methods and tools.
- Document work orders, repairs, and parts usage with accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with machine upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.
- Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to schedule and complete work with minimal disruption.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including lockout tagout and OSHA plus foundry-specific procedures.
