Transportation Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Transportation / Highway Engineering Intern for the Infrastructure Business Unit in Atlanta, Georgia.

The  Transportation / Highway Engineering Intern  will collaborate with and be mentored by engineering associates on our team.  The selected candidate will assist on plan preparation for a variety of roadway design projects.  This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Engineering Industry.

Responsibilities :

• Assist a team of highway engineers with the design of roadway corridors, intersections, and interchanges. This includes roadway geometrics, alternatives analysis, alignment studies, roadside safety evaluations, and crash and safety reporting.
• Prepare designs, plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates under the direction of an experienced engineer
• Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studies
• Perform design calculations and develop design documentation
• Develop materials and exhibits for public involvement
