The UC Davis Health School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and innovative Labor and Delivery Hospitalist to join the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the division of University Women’s Health (UWH). UC Davis delivers approximately two thousand babies a year, has a level III NICU, and serves a high‑risk obstetric population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology.
• Be responsible for clinical duties that include occasional outpatient care; daytime laborist on labor and delivery; obstetric day call; obstetrical night call in-house; at home gynecology call in rotation; and inpatient nighttime hospitalist duties on labor and delivery, including urgent and emergent gynecologic surgery.
• Additional hospitalist responsibilities include OB triage, labor management, postpartum care, initial evaluation and admission of antepartum patients, ER coverage, emergency surgeries and inpatient consults.
• Provide teaching and supervision of residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room and the inpatient wards for any admitted patients as the attending physician.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes and ensure the highest standards of care.
• Participate in administrative meetings held to support departmental initiatives and operations while adhering to all relevant department and clinic policies.

This position is primarily based at a UC Davis Health School of Medicine (UCDH) clinic; applicants must have the flexibility to provide coverage at other affiliated clinics as needed. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a School of Medicine academic / clinical department of approximately 40 faculty members, 11 Volunteer Clinical Professors, 4 Staff Physicians, 9 Fellows, 30 Residents and approximately 76 staff members.
