Overview

Office Locations : Washington D.C.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive professional Legal Assistant for our Washington, DC office. Experience working with Labor & Employment with a focus on Immigration is preferred but experience in varying practice groups is welcomed. The right candidate should demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, a team-player mentality, a desire to forge powerful relationships, hone their skills and deliver excellent work.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in connection with all aspects of case management and document production, heavy document editing, proofreading and finalizing legal documents in Microsoft Word.
  • E-filing in USCIS, state, federal and appellate courts.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings and conferences, enter billable time and process expense reports.
  • Update electronic records, upload documents, and run reports.
  • Adept at using all of Microsoft's Office tools.
  • Maintain and organize case files, organize paper and electronic documents for use in depositions or trials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of legal experience.
  • Immigration law experience preferred.
  • Exceptional technical skills required including knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe Professional, LawLogix and electronic document management.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to switch gears and self-manage multiple, competing expectations with little to no supervision.
  • Must be a team player with strong communication skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Must be detailed oriented. Excellent grammar and spelling skills are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential.
  • Position requires in-office presence, 5 days per week. This is not a remote work position.

Benefit eligibility is dependent on hours. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, education and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The range for this position for individuals physically located in Washington D.C. is $29.99 / hour to $48.60 / hour.
