Position Title : Refugee Foster Care Therapist

Hiring Range : $58,000-$78,000 / yr. DOE

Primary Function of Position

As a therapist, you will provide dedicated mental health services to refugee and immigrant foster youth and consult with foster families. This role encompasses conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, delivering therapy (primarily individual), and offering critical crisis intervention when necessary.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Connection : Establish and nurture therapeutic relationships with youth in the Refugee Foster Care program.
• Assessment Expertise : Conduct Refugee Health Screenings and mental health assessments upon clients' arrival.
• Individual Therapy : Provide one-on-one therapy to youth, involving assessment, diagnosis, the creation of treatment goals, and meticulous documentation of progress and discharge.
• Group Facilitation : The chance to facilitate group therapy sessions to address the unique needs of the youth.
• Family-Centered Care : Occasionally offer family therapy sessions, collaborating closely with foster families to ensure holistic well-being.
• Consultative Support : Provide consultative support to the team concerning placement decisions, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention strategies, contributing to the welfare of the clients.
• Level of Care Guidance : Collaborate in determining the appropriate therapeutic level of care for foster families based on the mental wellbeing and needs of foster youth, optimizing the support provided.
• Continual Learning : Actively participate in internal and community-provided training programs, applying newly acquired knowledge to enhance service delivery.
• Team Engagement : Attend weekly staff meetings, occasional home visits, parties and events, and consultative meetings to contribute insights and align with program goals.
• Training Facilitation : Facilitate training for both staff and foster parents relevant to challenges fostering and working with foster youth.
• Meticulous Documentation : Maintain thorough and compliant case files per all Catholic Community Services, Department of Professional Licensing, state, and federal regulations that are in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Additional duties as assigned.
