Position Introduction / Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Cybersecurity Chief Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Key Duties :

• Lead the development and execution of the organization's cybersecurity technical strategy, defining secure architectures, engineering processes, and best practices across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Mentor and guide cybersecurity engineering teams to drive technical excellence, quality initiatives, and professional development.
• Oversee the design, integration, and deployment of secure systems, including networking, computing, and information assurance architectures.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure security program effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert, collaborating with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure secure alignment with enterprise goals.
• Lead the organization through cybersecurity inspections, tests, and assessments to maintain compliance and readiness.
• Monitor and analyze the evolving threat landscape to proactively identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Ensure compliance with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-160, and other applicable standards and regulations, while managing security documentation and audit readiness.
