The position implements the agency's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title I Program, manages reasonable accommodation requests and processes, and administers related programs. Responsibilities include implementing procedures, tracking, and monitoring ADA requests, maintaining meticulous records, formalizing all ADA accommodations, collecting, and analyzing data for administrative reports, documenting the interactive process with applicants, employees. and supervisors and reviewing requests based on policy and law. In addition, the position provides objective, impartial, and precise legal and policy advice to all levels of the organization to ensure standardized compliance with agency policy and requirements and provides trainings for supervisors, managers, and Human Resources professionals regarding ADA Title 1.
This position has access to labor relations information as defined in M.S. 13.37 and will participate in meetings where state labor negotiation proposals are discussed and evaluated; use labor relations information as it relates to employee ADA and FMLA processes. The position will also have access to employee confidential, private data, and medical records and will be responsible for the proper storage and retention of this data. Additionally, occasional travel will be required.
