Preschool Director / Assistant Director
The Goddard School of Lake Forest is growing, and we are seeking a positive, flexible, qualified, experienced, and nurturing director or Assistant Director to help lead our school community. Role Overview
As Operations Director or Assistant Director, you'll work closely with the school's Owner and management team to ensure smooth daily operations, compliance with California licensing, and a warm, nurturing environment for children, staff, and families. You'll lead with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in early education.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Compliance
Support and oversee the daily operations of the schoolEnsure compliance with all California Title 22 licensing regulationsMaintain accurate records, reports, and licensing documentationConduct safety drills and maintain emergency proceduresManage school inventory, supplies, and equipment needsStaff Leadership
Recruit, onboard, and support teaching staffCreate and maintain staff schedulesConduct regular staff meetings and performance reviewsFoster a positive, team-oriented culture where teachers feel supported and inspiredFamily & Community Engagement
Build strong, positive relationships with familiesSupport enrollment, family tours, and orientationsCommunicate clearly and compassionately with parentsCreate a welcoming, inclusive school cultureCurriculum & Program Support
Oversee classroom curriculum implementation with a focus on STEM-based learningAssist with lesson plan review and provide classroom supportEnsure that classroom environments are safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriateSupport and monitor teacher planning, portfolio documentation, and classroom managementSchedule shared spaces and coordinate schoolwide events and activitiesRequired Qualifications
Must meet California Child Care Licensing Director qualifications (Title 22)Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in early childhood educationAA or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferredStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsFamiliarity with early learning standards and best practices in STEM educationEMSA CPR and First Aid certificationWarm, professional demeanor with the ability to lead with integrity and heartReady to lead with purpose and heart?
