Title : Jr. Talent Buyer
Summary :
The Jr. Talent Buyer is responsible for curating and securing live entertainment that aligns with Stable Hall’s brand, audience, and operational goals. This role involves scouting talent, negotiating bookings, managing contracts, coordinating event logistics, and analyzing performance metrics to ensure successful programming and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify and evaluate local and regional bands and artists that align with Stable Hall's programming style, audience demographics, and venue capacity. Attend local shows, review demos, and network with agents, managers, and industry contacts to build a pipeline of potential acts.
Negotiate and secure bookings for local and regional bands, including drafting offers, coordinating availability with the venue's calendar, and finalizing contracts. Ensure bookings fit within overall programming goals and budget constraints.
Prepare, review, and execute artist contracts, rider agreements, and related documentation. Coordinate with legal or senior staff as needed to ensure compliance with venue policies, licensing requirements, and industry standards.
Handle post-event settlements, including calculating artist payments (e.g., guarantees, percentages of ticket sales, merchandise splits), deducting expenses, and processing payouts. Reconcile box office reports, vendor invoices, and any overages or shortages.
Create and propose marketing budgets for each event, estimating costs for digital advertising, social media promotion, print materials, email campaigns, partnerships, and other promotional efforts. Collaborate with the marketing team to align budgets with expected ticket sales and ROI goals.
Develop operational budgets for events, covering production costs such as sound / lighting equipment, stage setup, security, staffing (e.g., door personnel, bartenders), permits, insurance, and any venue-specific expenses. Monitor and adjust budgets to ensure profitability.
Work with production, operations, and hospitality teams to plan event logistics, including load-in / load-out schedules, technical requirements, and artist hospitality needs.
Monitor ticket sales, attendance, and audience feedback for booked events. Prepare post-event reports analyzing financial performance, marketing effectiveness, and operational efficiencies to inform future bookings.
Stay informed on local and regional music trends, competitor programming, and audience preferences to recommend strategic bookings that enhance Stable Hall's reputation and draw.
Maintain organized records of bookings, budgets, contracts, and communications. Assist senior talent buyers with larger acts or special projects as needed, and participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for venue programming.
