Chief Housekeeper 2
New York State Psychiatric Institute is seeking a Chief Housekeeper 2 to oversee the daily operation and administration of their Environmental Services department. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As Chief Housekeeper 2, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Environmental Services department including :
- Supervising and training staff to ensure all cleaning tasks are performed satisfactorily
- Developing and implementing housekeeping policies and procedures
- Performing inspections of building areas to ensure compliance with environment of care and infection control standards
- Overseeing ordering and distribution of cleaning supplies
Minimum Qualifications :
Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (HELPS) program as a Chief Housekeeper 2 if they have :6 years of housekeeping experience in a fully functioning housekeeping department in a health care or institutional setting; 1 year of which must have included administrative or supervisory work experience; ORExecutive Housekeepers Certificate issued by the International Housekeepers Association, Inc. and 4 years of housekeeping working experience in a fully functioning housekeeping department in a health care or institutional setting; 1 year of which must have included administrative or supervisory work experience.ORCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Chief Housekeeper 2 eligible list.ORCandidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b / 55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIn accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Chief Housekeeper 2 at New York State Psychiatric Institute. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.Additional Comments :
