GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to grow profitable business for business units across Henry Ford Health System. The position manages growth goals through opportunity identification, product/service improvement and implementation of effective multi-channel advertising, digital and promotional tactics to key target markets. It reports to the Director of System Marketing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads development of multi-channel advertising and promotional strategy and implements communication plans for market opportunities, key target markets and the most effective strategies to grow business based on customer needs. Collaborates with administrative and physician leaders to assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Supervises writing, editing and production of advertising, digital, marketing and educational materials for clients through in-house, free-lance and agency resources.
  • Manages external business partners (consultants and vendors) including daily project management, analysis of engagement recommendations and implementation of engagement recommendations.
  • Writes content for a variety of digital communication and marketing vehicles
  • Conducts research and analysis and provides recommendations on new business opportunities and improvements/enhancements needed to existing programs and services to achieve the Henry Ford Experience.
  • Conducts research to better understand consumer and referring physician market; conducts competitor research and internal and external mystery shopping. Provides thorough analysis and incorporates findings into marketing strategies.
  • Works closely with marketing, branding, promotions, web and digital experts to ensure communication plans are developed and executed successfully.
  • Monitors and tracks results of marketing and communication strategies, providing regular reports to key customers on success of promotional
    campaigns, as well as overall awareness and preference for HFHS and its competitors.
  • Understanding and application of IT codes and tools that track analytics related to digital channels: specifically Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Insights, LinkedIn Insights.
  • Influences referring physicians and potential and existing patients with innovative health care marketing solutions
  • Identifies and executes opportunities to improve and expand interactive, digital marketing strategy, social media, content and conversions.
  • Project manages implementation of new interactive marketing features including tools and applications.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.
  • Performs other responsibilities or assignments as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, web/digital, communications, public relations, advertising, health care management or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in marketing, communications or operations, with increasing complexity, or minimum 5 years of experience plus master’s degree.
  • Solid understanding of digital communications, multi-channel, integrated marketing, integrated promotions and analytics tools.
  • Health care experience preferred.
  • Ability to determine and translate a client’s business value and messaging into an effective web and digital marketing presence
  • Must have excellent management skills and be guided by a compelling “client/customer” orientation. Conversant in both digital communications and customer service.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for staying current on social technology universe (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., discussion forums and community software.)
  • Data, analytics and metrics oriented.
