Seeking an experienced registered nurse for a busy medical-surgical / telemetry unit. The facility has 637 licensed beds and holds a Level 1 Trauma Designation. This is a teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center. Each MedSurg unit has 20-36 beds. Patient types predominantly include those on MedSurg and telemetry. Expected patient ratios are RN : 1 : 4-6 and LPN : 1 : 4-6. Support staff includes CNAs assisting with vitals, glucose checks, bathing, and other patient care tasks. Unit secretaries will be available during the day shift and a call secretary will be on duty overnight. Charge nurses and resource nurses will supervise as needed. Phlebotomy is mainly performed by lab staff, but RNs will draw from central venous lines. The unit has a continuous respiratory therapy team and hospitalist services available 24 / 7. Technology utilized includes an electronic medical record system and specific monitoring equipment. Travelers will be required to float to all medical-surgical and telemetry units within the facility as needed.
