Technology Program Director, ePMO
The Technology Program Director, ePMO is responsible for delivering key strategic investment projects while enhancing and supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) portfolio. This role will lead the technology workstreams across the portfolio to ensure successful execution of projects that drive significant financial impact and align with organizational goals. The role will coordinate the technology workstreams across the ePMO portfolio to ensure that IT enablement of enterprise strategic initiatives is delivered in a cost- and time-efficient way. To be clear, this role does not replace or duplicate Delivery Manager responsibilities.
The Director reports to the Head, Program Management Office, and will be based in the US, in approved jurisdictions, with periodic travel to the CFA Institute offices in Charlottesville. The postholder will be eligible for flexible working options.
In this role, your responsibilities will include :
- Managing technology workstreams across a portfolio of strategic initiatives
- Working closely with delivery managers, architects, developers, engineers, product management and across the PMO to ensure that projects' technical requirements are scoped, budgeted, and monitored across the portfolio
- Establishing interdependencies and common requirements across the portfolio and identifying critical paths to deliver projects on time and within scope
Project planning and management :
Creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans for projects' scope, schedule, budget and resources; identifying and planning for interdependencies within and between projectsLeading monthly / weekly / daily meetings and maintaining RAID logStakeholder management :
Working closely with stakeholders in IT, finance, operations and executive leadership sponsors to ensure the project achieves the desired outcomes within an agreed timeframeEstablishing effective relationships with the project's key stakeholders and especially with initiative owners is criticalProject governance :
Defining / reinforcing program governance and controlsDocumenting and communicating program governanceEstablishing escalation paths and triggersBudget management :
Establishing / maintaining the project budget, tracking and updating costs, and managing the project's finances effectivelyRisk management :
Working with the ERM lead and Initiative Owners, identifying and managing project risks, and developing mitigation strategies to keep the project on trackResource management :
Managing and allocating project resources, including team members, vendors, and contractorsPerformance and progress monitoring :
Responsible for preparing weekly program status report, weekly FinTech report, ensuring weekly workstream reports are generated, and for completing the monthly program dashboardChange management :
Identifying training and communication requirements for new applications and platformsThe skills & experience required for this role include :
Bachelor's degree in computer science or commensurate education and experience preferredProject management qualification such as PMP or equivalent12+ years of experience managing large-scale technology projects with a global scope and international teamsExpertise in developing and implementing IT strategies that align with enterprise objectivesProven mastery of project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to apply various approaches and methodologies as appropriateSignificant (8+ years) experience in complex program and portfolio management, product development, and IT infrastructure necessarySignificant experience in delivering projects with a high degree of technical complexity, ideally in a digital product environment, with demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder environmentsProficiency / experience in Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Agile / Scrum / Waterfall necessary; and NetSuite, SAP, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and BigCommerce idealStrong communication and influencing skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholdersPragmatic and disciplined approach to project oversight, ensuring structure and rigor without losing agilityDemonstrated ability to work independently and confidently make informed, data-driven decisionsCapable of continual adaptation to variable situations, ensuring the ePMO can respond effectively to evolving business challenges and prioritiesTranslates organizational policies into actionable processes and project activities, ensuring compliance and alignment with strategic objectivesStrong financial acumen related to project budgeting and impact managementDemonstrated global outlook and experience operating in international business contextsTravel :
Travel up to 10% of the time to CFA Institute offices, including limited international meetings, and to attend external eventsAt CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position : Expected salary range : $170,000-$190,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, location and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
