Job Description : Role Synopsis

This Critical position supports the operation and maintenance of bpx energy’s Permian power system, which provides electrical service to essential midstream facilities and upstream well pads. As a technician you will operate and maintain three 200MVA substations, one 140MVA substation, one 138kV breaker station, three 21.6kV switching / breaker stations, six miles of 138kV transmission line, 300 miles of medium voltage power distribution, all providing power to facility and field operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain high voltage electrical distribution systems using an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery.
• Perform switching, isolating, and grounding of high / medium / low voltage systems.
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities as directed by the work management system (SAP), including initiating notifications, completing work orders, and supporting the planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks.
• Respond to power outages and equipment breakdowns; participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
• Provide oversight of contractor work to ensure compliance with bpx and regulatory standards.
• Support testing and commissioning of substations and switching stations.
• Collaborate with engineering to evaluate maintenance program performance and pursue predictive analytics.
• Ensure safe work practices in accordance with OSHA 1910.269 and NFPA 70E standards.
• Operate manlifts and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Comply with bpx’s Code of Conduct and model company values and behaviors.
• Seek knowledge in and encourage the use of new technology to further optimize facilities’ availability and reliability.

How much do we pay (Base)? $104,000 - $122,000

Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
