This role will be located at our West Chester, Ohio facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements
  • Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2 D cross sections, 3 D models, tolerance stackups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly.

Provide quality checks to eliminate interferences and to ensure interface requirements are met. Ensure drawings and models are managed consistent with industry standards for configuration management.

  • Perform reverse engineering by using scan data and creating new part models using parametric modeling.
  • Ensure product designs follow standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Support design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system integration.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.
  • Role will initially be an individual contributor comfortable working in a dynamic self-directed start-up environment. As the organization grows, this role will be responsible for scaling design capability to support additional projects which will likely include some future team leadership.

Being able to grow leadership capabilities with the role will be critical.

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Design from an accredited university or college
  • Must have 6 + years of experience in design of complex additive or gas turbine components
  • Strong expertise in design software tools (NX, SolidWorks, etc)
  • Experience with handling 3D scan data and creating parametric models based on re-interpreted scan data
  • System level CAD model, parametric modeling, and PLM / PDM experience
  • Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams
