On-Call IT Field Technician - PC, Mac, TV Configuration, Printer & Scanner Support

Location : Multiple U.S. Cities (Local, Onsite Support)

Job Type : Independent Contractor (1099)

Pay : $40-$45 / hour (on-site) + mileage reimbursement over 20 miles one way

Schedule : Flexible - You accept jobs based on your availability

Important Note : This is an on-call, 1099 independent contractor role with no guaranteed hours .

We're expanding our network of skilled on-call technicians to meet growing demand for in-person support — including computers, networks, printers, and more.

About The Role : We're hiring field IT technicians who can confidently support a wide range of tech needs for residential and small business customers.

This includes troubleshooting PCs and Macs , resolving network issues , and repairing or configuring printers / scanners — including issues like Canon MF printer network setup or G-series ink absorber error codes .

Key Responsibilities :

• Diagnose and repair hardware / software issues on Windows and macOS systems
• Resolve boot errors, OS issues, and login problems
• Set up or troubleshoot Wi-Fi and wired internet connections
• Replace or upgrade hardware (HDD, RAM, cooling fans, etc.)
• Configure or connect printers and scanners (Canon, HP, Brother, etc.)
• Address common printer error codes (e.g., ink absorber, paper feed, connectivity)
• Perform general maintenance on multifunction printers (MFPs)
• Reinstall operating systems using bootable USBs or recovery media
• Install remote tools or shortcuts as requested
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide basic post-service support
• Document service visits and escalate complex issues as needed
