Tool Design Engineer – Metal Stamping Expertise

Location : Triad, NC

Salary Range : $90,000 – $110,000

About the Role

As a Tool Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, updating, and maintaining tooling systems that support high-volume metal stamping operations. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, tool & die, and production teams to deliver optimized solutions that meet stringent performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and redesign tools, jigs, dies, and fixtures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Perform engineering research, design development, and manufacturing engineering assignments.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for all tooling changes and updates.

Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks .

Interface with management, tool room, and production personnel to ensure seamless execution.

Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives .

Stay current with the latest developments in tool and die design and production technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years experience in metal stamping tool design, including progressive, transfer, and / or draw dies.

Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks .

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Behaviors

Knowledge of automation tool design is a plus.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Pay Details : $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
