Responsibilities
- Coordinate geographically diverse design and commissioning team members to develop supporting design and testing documentation.
- Develop and implement commissioning administrative programs and procedures.
- Develop and coordinate the creation of an integrated nuclear plant commissioning schedule across multiple organizations.
- Provide subject matter expertise regarding regulations, company policies, and industry best practices related to nuclear plant commissioning.
- Develop, maintain, and refine plant level and system level requirements, specifications, and strategy documents related to commissioning, plant operations and maintenance activities over the life cycle of a nuclear facility.
- Apply engineering principles, methods, and tools to the design of nuclear and industrial facilities and their systems and operations.
- Develop and implement plant operating strategies and human-factors engineering attributes into the plant design.
- Lead commissioning and design efforts to evaluate plant integrated control and transient event responses, providing recommendations to deliver efficient plant operational strategies.
- Support design reviews and resolution of cross-functional technical concerns as a subject matter expert in nuclear island commissioning, operations and maintenance.
- Ensure licensing and code requirements are clearly established and implemented in the design, including developing regulatory submission documents such as topical reports and safety analysis report sections.
- Support teammates and contractors in plant development efforts through oversight and interface activities.
- Support development of design packages for key topics, systems and plant features, including coordination of calculations, design reports, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
- Continuously apply nuclear industry best practices to maintain high-quality engineering design and proactively identify process change opportunities.
- Support licensing activities associated with Safety Analysis Reports.
- Provide leadership and oversight of nuclear island commissioning programs, processes, and procedures to ensure testing meets design criteria.
Education
One year of satisfactory performance as a Level I in the corresponding inspection or test activity; orHigh school (or equivalent) diploma plus 3 years of experience related to equivalent inspection or testing activities; orCompletion of college / university level work leading to an associate degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent) in a technical discipline plus 1 year of experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; orCompletion of a 4-year college degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent) in a technical discipline plus 6 months of experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.Key Qualifications And Skills
Experience in developing and / or using nuclear plant commissioning administrative processes and procedures.Experience in implementing integrated plant design of nuclear systems, including complex systems and structures (highly desired but not required).Experience developing and / or approving nuclear plant operations and maintenance procedures is preferred.Previous experience related to EPC contracts preferred.Experience using P6 Primavera or a similar application to develop long-term schedules is preferred.Knowledge of licensing requirements and basis criteria for nuclear work control, maintenance strategies, and operational programs.Strong understanding of nuclear regulations, work control processes, operational design philosophies, and integrated plant operations during normal and off-normal events.Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control tools applied to nuclear or similar complex industrial applications.Knowledge of risk-informed methodologies for integrated plant design or similar probabilistic methods (desired but not required).Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills, including periodic training development and presentation.Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.High-potential, self-starter with the ability to coordinate and support a design team's effort with minimal direction.Ability to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, resolving conflicts between objectives.Ability to work on tasks that require a multidisciplinary approach.Experience working to quality standards NQA-1 or ISO 9001.Possesses high degree of trust and integrity, communicates openly, and fosters teamwork.Job Functions

Salary Range Level 10 : $109,061 – $163,592 (Reston, VA). Salary Range Level 11 : $120,247 – $200,411. Compensation is within 0.90–1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
