Job Summary
The Apfeld Lab at Northeastern University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate how genes work together to determine the maximum lifespan of the nematode C. elegans. Our lab integrates genetics, live imaging, quantitative analysis, and computational approaches to uncover the molecular mechanisms regulating aging and longevity.
Key Responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to ongoing research projects exploring genetic interactions that influence lifespan, assist in experimental design, data analysis, and publication of findings. Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory operations and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
Qualifications
-Demonstrated ability to design and conduct independent research.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Attention to detail and training in research methodology and quantitative data analysis.
-Recent or upcoming Ph.D., or equivalent degree, in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics/Genomics, Neurobiology/Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related disciplines required
-Experience in molecular biology
