Facilities General Manager
The General Manager of Facilities oversees the strategic planning, execution, and management of all facility-related activities across Maryland and Washington, DC locations This role acts as the operational bridge between leadership strategy and on-site execution, leading the maintenance team while managing capital projects and ensuring facilities remain reliable, compliant, and optimized. This individual will drive digital accountability and process standardization through the eMaint CMMS platform, ensuring all preventive, corrective, and project-based work is deployed, tracked, and verified for visibility and measurable results. This position requires a dynamic leader with strong technical and managerial experience, someone fluent in trades, capable of coordinating vendors, supporting capital initiatives, and traveling between facilities to verify performance, coach staff, and maintain operational excellence aligned with the company's goals.
Your role in caring for our company :
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
Strategic Planning, Facility Management & Execution
- Develop and execute long-term facilities strategies aligned with company objectives and operational goals.
- Lead all facility operations across Maryland and Washington, DC, ensuring safe, clean, and compliant environments.
- Supervise maintenance staff in both Maryland and Washington, DC.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs through the eMaint CMMS platform for full visibility and efficiency.
- Direct capital and renovation projects, scope, budget, contractors, and completion to standard.
- Monitor facility budgets, forecasts, and cost controls using data analytics and eMaint reporting tools.
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with ABCA, MCA, METRC, and MOSH standards; maintain audit readiness.
- Oversee all fertigation, waste disposal, and recycling systems, maintaining sustainability and operational reliability.
- Implement and enforce safety, emergency, and security protocols; conduct regular training for all sites.
- Develop standardized workflows, reporting tools, and procedures to drive consistency across all facilities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and site General Managers to prioritize and execute facility initiatives.
- Conduct routine site visits to verify maintenance quality, contractor performance, and adherence to company standards.
Team Leadership & Performance Analytics
Foster a culture of professionalism, guiding teams to achieve optimal results.Understand and own every aspect of the facility teams performance; set targets, drive execution, and hold the team accountable for both individual and team results.Collaborate effectively with the Human Resources Department and appropriate partners to implement and manage the company's policies and procedures.Partner with the Human Resources Department to monitor staff performance, provide timely feedback, along with development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance evaluations, and administer salary adjustments.Retain and develop top performers by understanding individual's motivations and providing actionable feedback.Addresses low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies.Manage employee's scheduling, basic time off requests, performance reviews, etc .All other duties as necessary.
Qualifications we ask you to have :
For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.We ask that you have an Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field (Bachelor's Degree Preferred).We ask that you have a minimum of ten (10) years of facilities or maintenance management experience in a multi-site or regulated environment.We ask that you have a minimum of five (5) years of experience that demonstrates growth and / or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.We ask that you have a minimum of five (5) years of management experience.We ask that you have excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve, personal integrity, and business acumen.Background in trades or technical systems required.Addition skills which will help you excel in your role :
