About the Role

The New York Times seeks a Senior Engineering Manager in the Subscriber Experiences Mission to support the team responsible for the award-winning News apps : where millions of readers go to understand the events shaping the world.

The News apps are the core of the NYT mobile experience. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead an engineering team directly building features in the News app and collaborate with other teams contributing to the News app. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who can lead a collaborative and inclusive team of engineers to deliver a performant, stable and engaging app experience.

This is a hybrid role based in our New York City headquarters, reporting to the Sr. Director, Engineering. You can typically expect to come into the office two days per week.

About the Team :

• Responsible for building and maintaining the New York Times iOS News app, in concert with contributing teams
• An iOS team of about 10+ engineers responsible for iOS app development
• Builds app infrastructure and core features that highlight our journalism and offer gateways into our NYT product bundle
• Launches prototypes quickly to run experiments, scaling systems over time to balance consistency and velocity
• Ensures overall application architecture fits the business problem and quality standards now and in the future

This is a hybrid remote / in-office role.

The annual base pay range for this role is between : $176,000 - $205,000 USD
