About The Position

We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in New York beginning Mar 2, 2026. This one-year opportunity offers both full-time (Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.) and part-time schedules, coordinating days with other providers. The role focuses on direct patient care, including clinic consultations and surgical procedures, for a broad range of gastroenterology cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver direct patient care, comprising approximately 90 percent of work duties
  • Provide clinical gastroenterology services in both clinic and surgical settings
  • Arrive promptly for scheduled clinics and surgeries
  • Offer consultative services at the bedside for non-ambulatory patients and in the clinic for ambulatory patients
  • Schedule and complete procedures within 30 days of consult requests
  • Additional Information

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in gastroenterology required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Any valid state medical license accepted
  • Assignment duration and start date dependent on contract award and credentialing
