We’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives on solving hard problems, guiding a team, and keeping mission-critical systems rock solid. You’ll build, lead and still get your hands dirty- balancing strategy with real technical contribution every day.
Build and oversee the US platform engineering team
Own the hiring pipeline : source candidates, conduct technical interviews, make hiring decisions, and close offers
Set team priorities, resource allocation, and delivery timelines aligned with decoupling milestones
Provide performance management, career development, and technical mentorship to the team
Build team culture around autonomy, automation, ownership, and operational excellence
Own US infrastructure strategy and execution, including Kubernetes clusters, Azure architecture, and platform tooling
Lead the migration from EU datacenter-hosted Kubernetes to US-owned Azure infrastructure (AKS, SQL PaaS, networking)
Establish independent CI / CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational practices decoupled from EU systems
Design and implement Azure landing zone architecture (networking, identity, cost management, security)
Own SQL Server operations in Azure (performance, availability, backup / restore, cost optimization)
Make platform tooling decisions (monitoring, logging, secrets management, deployment tools) and vendor selections within budget
Continue writing infrastructure code to set standards and unblock critical work
Provide hands-on technical support during incidents or when the team is blocked- you are the escalation point who can resolve complex issues directly
Prototype and validate new infrastructure approaches before delegating to the team
Establish SRE practices : runbooks, on-call rotations, incident retrospectives, MTTR tracking
Build monitoring and alerting for production systems aligned with trading hours and business requirements
Optimize developer platform experience : fast local development (Docker), efficient CI / CD, clear deployment processes
Manage infrastructure costs and make optimization decisions
You’ll join our Technology team and partner closely with our Staff Engineer for application deployment patterns and infrastructure requirements. You’ll also coordinate with the Data team on Kafka and SQL infrastructure needs. As well, you’ll work with our EU counterpart during the transition period of infrastructure to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
8+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering with hands-on execution throughout career
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field
You’re an expert DevOps engineer who has built and operated production Azure environments at scale
You have deep Kubernetes operational experience : cluster management, upgrades, networking, troubleshooting (not just deploying apps)
You have production Azure experience : AKS, Azure SQL, networking (VNets, private endpoints), identity (Entra ID), cost optimization
You have experience with Infrastructure as Code
You have CI / CD pipeline architecture and troubleshooting skills (using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)
You have experience with SQL Server operations in Azure : performance tuning, backup / restore, HA / DR
You are comfortable using monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus / Grafana, Azure Monitor, Datadog, or similar)
You are well versed in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to eliminate operational toil
You still write infrastructure code daily and are comfortable debugging Terraform, fixing pipelines, troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters
You have been the "go-to person" for critical production issues, not just the escalation point
You have a proven track record leading datacenter-to-cloud migrations or hybrid infrastructure transitions
You are an excellent communicator and can explain technical infrastructure decisions to non-technical stakeholders and traders
You have a collaborative mindset and thrive working across teams
You are execution-driven and have a bias for shipping working solutions over perfect architectures
You thrive in fast-paced environments where uptime and rapid decision-making are critical
You’ll join with a steep learning curve supported by a thorough onboarding program that sets you up for success from day one. From there, you’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy, working alongside exceptional colleagues who are bold, honest, ambitious, and among the smartest in their fields. Our culture is unique—we live our values of Honesty, Transparency, and Rethink, and we do it without rigid hierarchies or dress codes. Along the way, you’ll take part in great events, both within your team and across the organization, and you’ll have the chance to grow on both a professional and personal level.
Flexible working hours and hybrid work schedule
Health insurance
401k with employer matching
Parental leave including paid and unpaid options
Generous PTO policy and paid holidays
Monthly Door Dash allowance and snacks and drinks at the office
Internet and optional cellphone reimbursement
Access to office gym
We’re InCommodities North America – and we’re building the full energy trading value chain across US power and gas.
We’ve been trading power in US markets since 2020. Now we’re scaling up – expanding into gas, growing our local teams, and opening new offices across the US.
What sets us apart is our EnergyTech edge. We combine deep market expertise with advanced technology, quantitative models, and a data-driven mindset to trade smarter, faster, and at scale. That’s how we move energy where it’s needed, 24 / 7 / 365 – and why we attract ambitious people who want to rethink the future of energy trading.
Our culture is simple : entrepreneurial, flat, and hands-on. You’ll get autonomy and trust from day one – and the responsibility to make an impact. We value initiative over titles, thrive in change, and back each other in building one of the most ambitious energy trading companies in North America - with the strength of a global platform behind us.
At InCommodities, we win as a team. You’ll work alongside bold, honest, and ambitious people who challenge each other to grow – and get better every day.
Autonomy is real here, and it comes with trust. You’re expected to take ownership and make decisions that move InCommodities forward. Not by asking for permission, but by working with the right people to get it right. You’ve got freedom – and a strong team to back you up.
We care about personal and cultural fit. Not because we expect everyone to be the same, but because we’re building a place where people genuinely enjoy working – and want to stick around.
Expect a casual vibe. We keep a flat hierarchy, no dress code, and no corporate red tape to slow you down. Just trust, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun along the way. And yes, we like to hang out outside office hours as well.
