How You’ll Make an Impact :

From Operators to Machinist and Programmers, our team members in our Manufacturing Department can transform a rough product into something complete within exacting tolerances.

They enable an organization to produce products on-time and to a customer’s requirement. Our Manufacturing team members work alongside many departments such as : Quality, Engineering, and Operations to produce high-quality products.

The Estimator will have the capability to analyze blueprints, specs, proposals, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for parts, sub-assemblies, raw materials, labor, and outside processing to assist in producing a successful outcome for the company.

What You’ll be Doing as an Estimator :

  • Working a Full-time position onsite at our Fife, Washington location.
  • Preferred shift time is Monday Friday 8am-4 : 30pm. Other shift times may also be available.
  • Is responsible for producing the most accurate estimation of cost possible at the time of receipt of RFQ and managing the profit discussion through final submission back to the sales department
  • Uses drawings and specification information in customer requests for quotes to determine labor, material, and process hour and cost estimates for detailed parts, assemblies, and tooling
  • Coordinates with Materials department for requests for quotes from outside suppliers for parts, materials, hardware, standards, and surface processes
  • Maintains historical databases for core competencies and typical products
  • Prepares data for reports, presentations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authorities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements :

  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize activities within an environment of fast-paced periods of competing deadlines and fluctuating workload
  • Team player with a can-do attitude

Preferred Experience :

  • Five years’ experience estimating in the aerospace manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, quality control, production and inventory control and AS9100

Education, Skills and Experience :

  • 5 years experience estimating in the aerospace industry or equivalent experience in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
  • Knowledge of customer RFQ document types and languages
  • Extensive knowledge of various materials, hardware, and tooling as well as machining, assembly, heat treat testing, and related outside processes
  • Knowledge of cost estimating methods, from detailed part bids through large-scale quotations
  • Strong project management, time management, business, and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills necessary to converse with inter-departmental staff, including senior management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and MRP systems
  • Typing : 30 WPM

Work Environment :

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.

Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation and Benefits :

Employee Benefits : Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match.

The Estimator Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $95,000 - $105,000 commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates.

Other site ranges may differ.
