• Position Summary The Fire Sprinkler Installation Technician is responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
• This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and FEI quality standards.
• The ideal candidate is experienced in both wet and dry sprinkler systems, can interpret construction drawings, and works collaboratively with foremen, project managers, and apprentices in the field.
• Key Responsibilities Install, modify, and test fire sprinkler systems and related components according to design drawings and NFPA standards.
• Work with wet, dry, and pre-action systems , including fire pumps and standpipes.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and layout drawings to ensure proper installation.
• Measure, cut, thread, and install pipe and fittings using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers, foremen, and general contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and job site regulations.
• Assist in training and mentoring apprentices and helpers.
• Complete daily job reports, material requisitions, and installation documentation.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and support testing and final inspections.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
• Qualifications Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Sprinkler License required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler installation.
• Proficient understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 20, and NFPA 25 .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping layouts, and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 lbs. and work at heights as needed.
