Court Attorney - NYC Civil Court

Base pay range

$89,579.00 / yr - $128,148.00 / yr

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking seven (7) Court Attorneys that will be assigned to a pool of judges in the New York City Civil Court. This position will be filled in any of the following titles and will be dependent on the qualifications of the applicant selected : Associate Court Attorney, Senior Court Attorney, or Court Attorney. Persons with experience in Housing Law and Housing Court are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Conferencing cases with attorneys and pro se litigants.
• Assisting parties in reaching settlements.
• Conducting legal research.
• Conferring with and advising judges on legal issues.
• Drafting orders and legal opinions to be adopted by the court.
• Preparing responses to inquiries.

In addition, some positions may be assigned to the Help Centers in the New York City Civil Court. Duties in the Help Center include, but are not limited to :

$123,228 + $4,920 location pay.

$99,490 + $4,920 location pay.

$84,659 + $4,920 location pay.
