Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do in This Role : The unit secretary is responsible and accountable for the daily clerical operations of the nursing unit, performs receptionist duties and maintains supplies / equipment for the unit. The unit secretary participates in a positive patient experience including supporting RNs in the delivery of patient care items and providing meal companionship to patients.

What Qualifications You Will Need : High School Diploma. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required upon hire. Hospital Unit Secretary / Admin experience highly needed. ER experience preferred, or other experience in a fast-paced environment. Public contact and clerical experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and computer skills required. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions. Knowledge of medical terminology will be important. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and multi-line phone needed.
