About The Position

License : Valid RN license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required in a high acuity / high census PICU
• Previous assignments of more than 8 weeks in similar high-volume, high-acuity facilities
• Experience floating to NICU and CVICU and other areas as needed

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, working night shifts of 12 hours.

The nurse will care for critically ill children, ranging from birth to 18 years of age.

The nurse is expected to work every other weekend and two of the three major holidays.

Critical skills include managing arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, and ECMO.

Competence in managing metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, level 1 trauma, and cardiology patients is required.

All candidates must have experience in administering medication, managing ventilated patients, and caring for those with central lines.

A commitment to patient safety and care excellence is essential.

The ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team is crucial for the role.

This position requires adherence to infection control protocols and maintaining a hygienic work environment.

Documentation must be performed using the electronic health record system.

Teamwork and effective communication skills are imperative for successful collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Candidates must show a willingness to float to other areas as needed and adapt to changing patient needs in a dynamic environment.
