In this fulfilling role, you will assist in implementing a positive behavior support program, focusing on proactive strategies and effectively managing challenges faced by exceptional learners. Your interventions will directly contribute to enhancing student behaviors across Grades K-12.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement individual and group interventions to foster positive academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
- Encourage positive student behavior while offering guidance to staff in redirecting challenges.
- Maintain thorough records regarding behavioral strategies and intervention plans.
- Analyze behavioral data to track student progress and collaborate with IEP teams.
- Provide classroom staff with support to create effective behavior management systems.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis principles to improve student outcomes and manage disruptions.
- Conduct behavioral observations and develop functional assessments to craft individualized intervention plans.
- Assist in classroom management and instructional activity preparations.
- Respond swiftly to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.
- Document behavioral incidents and adhere to confidentiality protocols.
- Participate in meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices.
- Assist with supervising students during various school activities.
- Travel between school site locations to provide support as needed.
- Contribute to special projects aimed at program and organizational excellence.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree or higher in a related field.Active paraprofessional or similar credential.Licensed or in the process of obtaining RBT credential preferred.Valid state driver's license required.Prior experience in special education or behavioral health settings is advantageous.Strong skills in working with individuals facing severe learning disabilities and emotional challenges.Knowledge of positive behavior intervention, functional behavior analysis, and intervention plans.Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to stay calm in emergencies.Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.Perks and Benefits :
