Job description

Sr. Manager / Associate Director, Training Medical Affairs

Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlym (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushing's syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

Corcept Therapeutics is seeking a motivated and experienced Sr. Manager / Associate Director of Training to support the growing needs of the Endocrinology Medical Affairs team. This role will collaborate closely with the Director of Training to design, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance the capabilities of our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and other medical affairs professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, proven experience in training development and facilitation, and a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with the Director, Training on the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the 812 week onboarding program for new MSLs and other Medical Affairs team members
  • Co-facilitator for onboarding modules, scientific content, systems training, field coaching, and certification
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., legal, compliance, commercial, clinical) to integrate relevant content into onboarding

Ongoing and Advanced Training :

  • Develop and deliver ongoing education initiatives (scientific updates, product refreshers, soft skills, systems / tools)
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and instructional design.
  • Curate and maintain scientific content to ensure alignment with current literature, product data, and therapeutic landscape
  • Monitor MSL performance trends to identify learning needs and tailor training accordingly
  • Meeting Planning & Facilitation :

  • Contribute to the execution of team meetings (regional, national, NFM, etc.)
  • Collaborate on meeting agendas, speaker coordination, training workshops, and post-meeting assessments
  • Lead live and virtual training sessions during regional, national, NFM meetings
  • Curriculum Development & Evaluation :

  • Create and maintain a structured, modular training curriculum, leveraging adult learning principles and modern training technologies
  • Design assessment tools and feedback loops to evaluate training effectiveness and ensure knowledge retention
  • Leverage insights from the field, compliance metrics, and leadership feedback to inform content updates
  • Collaboration & Project Management :

  • Work cross-functionally with Medical Directors, MSL Directors, Compliance, Commercial Training, and external vendors to ensure consistency and quality of training materials
  • Manage logistics and timelines for training initiatives; oversee vendor deliverables and contracts as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment
  • Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies :

  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and medical affairs field dynamics
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and project management skills
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
  • Experience in endocrinology or cardiometabolism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, LMS tools, and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Ability to travel up to 30% for team meetings, onboarding, and field support
  • Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, or relevant scientific degree) preferred
  • 8+ years related or clinical experience with minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, MSL, or medical training roles; prior training or leadership experience preferred
  • The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $178,200 - $222,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
