Project Accountant (Project Billing Coordinator)
Location : Columbia, MD (On-site)
Salary : Up to $85,000 annually
Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours / week
About the Role :
Join a leading electrical contracting firm with decades of experience in commercial and industrial construction projects . We are looking for a Project Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in construction accounting, AIA billing, and project administration . This role ensures accurate financial tracking and billing for multiple projects while supporting project managers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage construction project billing and financial documentation.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and close-out documents .
- Maintain organized project files using project management software .
- Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and AIA billing .
- Assist with project budgets, purchase orders, and cost coding .
- Compile progress data and assemble billing packages for clients.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, permits, and bonded project requirements .
Qualifications :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or Business preferred.2-4+ years of experience in construction accounting or project administration (electrical or MEP preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams .Familiarity with QuickBooks or Sage Intacct is a plus.Strong understanding of AIA billing and basic accounting principles .Excellent organizational and communication skills.Compensation & Benefits :
