About the Role

One City Preparatory Academy seeks a passionate basketball coach to lead our scholar-athletes and develop our inaugural basketball program during the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate understands that coaching extends beyond the court—it's about molding young lives and building character alongside athletic skills.

Key Responsibilities

Build relationships with, challenge, and motivate scholar-athletes

Plan and lead coherent training sessions and program development

Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress

Manage program budget and maintain accurate records

Facilitate skill development activities for younger ages to build program foundation

Meet annual requirements of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association

Qualifications

Required :

High school diploma or higher

First Aid / CPR / AED certification (or ability to certify)

Strong commitment to One City's mission of serving all students

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred :

2+ years coaching / playing experience

Previous varsity coaching experience

Experience working with high school-age students

Experience with racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse youth
