JOB SUMMARY

Performs routine and basic work in general maintenance, repairs, fabrications, remodeling, and construction, commonly represented by the maintenance and construction trades in maintaining and upgrading existing facilities, grounds, and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of experience in related building maintenance and / or construction trade.

A valid Driver's License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a county vehicle.

Some Departments may require a current Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Medical Card at the time of hire AND / OR attainment of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of hire.

Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting this position. May be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post-accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires extensive physical labor : lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects over 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with some assistance), kneeling, bending, sitting, and standing. The work involves exposure to extreme weather conditions, dirt, dust, heat, cold, chemicals, smoke, and / or loud noises.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION

PLEASE NOTE : The Ballfields Maintenance Worker is responsible for the daily upkeep, preparation, and renovation of baseball and softball fields. This position ensures that all playing surfaces are maintained to a safe, clean, and professional standard for games, practices, and
