We are a well-established artisan bakehouse in Chicago seeking an experienced Head Baker to lead our team. We specialize in high-quality, handcrafted bagels, breads, and baked goods, using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily production.
- Lead and train a team of bakers and support staff to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Maintain high standards for product consistency, texture, and flavor.
- Manage production schedules, inventory, and ingredient ordering.
- Work closely with management to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot baking equipment as needed.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of professional baking experience , with at least 1 year in a leadership role .Strong expertise in bagel-making, bread baking, and fermentation techniques.Ability to manage high-volume production without compromising quality.Leadership skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach.Experience in scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends as needed.ServSafe or food handler certification preferred.What We Offer :
