Job Summary :
Homeboy Industries is actively exploring acquiring an auto repair shop. We are seeking a mission-driven, business-minded leader to run and scale this operation from day one. This is an opportunity to run your own shop—with full operational autonomy—while building a workforce training pipeline that transforms lives.
You will have :
- Authority over P&L, hiring, pricing, workflow, and vendor relationships
- Support from Homeboy’s central HR and finance teams
- Opportunities for professional development and advancement as the shop scales into multiple locations
Responsibilities :
Run all shop operations, from facility upkeep and parts ordering to hands-on maintenance, as the flow of business requiresOversee financial performance of the shop, including labor efficiency, parts margins, ARO, and overall profitabilityBuild and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and scalabilityDevelop and maintain relationships with fleet clients, referral partners, and community stakeholdersSchedule appointments and generate estimates in person and over the phoneEffectively communicate to the customer the timeline of repair and maintenanceGuide the entire customer service experience, from the service drive until the vehicle is turned back to the customerCreate a culture of excellence, honesty, and teamworkDocument repair and maintenance changes on repair order in the approved mannerResolve customer complaints and questionsPersonally conduct maintenanceWork with fleet managers to create and execute maintenance plans for corporate accountsEstablish and maintain strong positive working relationships and loyalty with customers to encourage repeat and referral business, cultivating long-term clienteleEnsures that all required documentation is completed and in compliance with regulations and standardsTrain new mechanics from Homeboy IndustriesStay current with the latest technologies and repair techniquesAbility to work well in a process-driven environmentProvide quarterly updates to a board of advisorsQualifications :
10+ Years of experience as an automotive technician / service writer requiredTrack record of improving shop efficiency, growing revenue, or turning around underperforming operationsASE Certifications preferredExcellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staffMust bring your own toolsBilingual a PLUS!Compensation :
$75,000-$85,000 starting salary, depending on experience level, with bonus potential based on shop profitability and operational performance.
