Manager, Community Engagement - Southwest

Overview

Join Autism Speaks as a Special Events Manager on the Community Engagement team in the Southwest. This is a front-line fundraiser and ambassador role that speaks knowledgeably about the mission and ways to engage. The Manager will be responsible for the Houston Chef Gala and general support for the Houston 8k. The territory covers Texas and the Southwest with focus on Houston; potential for future events in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and other Texas markets. The position is remote, but based in Houston, TX.

Purpose

Purpose : Raise funds for Autism Speaks by recruiting and managing volunteers, raising awareness, soliciting corporate sponsorship and implementing fundraising and mission events to achieve revenue goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Achieve the revenue goals for assigned fundraising events totaling $465,000.
• Execute fundraising events in partnership with volunteer leadership, specifically managing committee recruitment, activation and retention.
• Achieve the assigned fundraising goals by implementing strategies including sponsorship, corporate engagement, committee development and donor cultivation.
• Support the local implementation of global campaigns of Autism Speaks, sometimes in collaboration with the Outreach team.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned events, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements and materials management.
• Manage and provide administrative support to volunteer committees.
• Make presentations to businesses, organizations and community groups to secure sponsorship, recruit donors and committee volunteers and manage accounts on a year-round basis.
• Integrate digital marketing initiatives, such as email campaigns, fundraising websites, as well as other forms of digital outreach.
