The role of a skilled professional in our hospital setting is to provide patient care with independence and awareness of the situation. The candidate will be expected to deliver routine and complex care while developing long-term goals or plans. This position requires an ability to manage contingencies and make appropriate assignments and delegation to other care providers.
Our hospital serves the fastest growing area of San Antonio, offering specialized care including orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, weight loss institute, wound care, rehabilitation, and more. We also have an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas.
Responsibilities
Meet expectations for leadership, self-leadership, or leadership of others.
Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
BLS required.
RN License in state of employment or compact.
Additional Requirements
New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire.
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of organizational entry competency validation and perinatal services-specific competency validation.
