As a Maintenance Lead you are maintenance leader for your assigned shift. As the maintenance shift leader, you are responsible to oversee all plant equipment during your shift and assigned technicians. You should lead by example and participate in the Repair / Install and Maintain Plant Equipment, complete required Predictive Maintenance activities on a routine schedule and always strive to prevent unplanned breakdowns. Furthermore, since this position is filled due to company need, positions may be limited. Compile and send out the Maintenance EOS reports.Follow the appropriate escalation plan plant issues to ensure proper communication and support.Train and develops assigned maintenance Technion’s as well as yourselfReports / follows up on incidents (safety, quality, equipment, etc.)Coordinates and leads all maintenance type work during your designated shift.Delegates tasks to assigned technicians in completing repair and maintenance work.Meet with oncoming Maintenance Team Lead at shift change shift to perform a GIMBA / safety walk of the plant to identify and correct any issues remaining from off going shift. (CLEANLINESS, QUALITY, EQUIPMENT ISSUES, PARTS, ETC.).Direct development of employees on team.Observe the daily and past manufacturing process and communicate and / or implement improvements to the operation. Follow Horizon Organic guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices when performing the requirements of Reliability Lead.Visually inspect the manufacturing line and communicate deficiencies with operations and maintenance. Schedule those improvements and then complete them.Complete work orders as assigned and write new work orders as you identify equipment deficiencyParticipate and help others and demonstrate the Horizon Organic values of respect and supportAttend maintenance DDS meetings, SME or Focus Equipment meetings and mechanic to mechanic shift hand offs.Review log books form previous shifts both in operations and maintenance and note equipment needs for shift leads to help withLocate and identify spare parts by using the cmms system in the store room and make recommendations to stock spare parts and inventory levels.Perform lubrication on equipment following the plant lubrication standards and monitor lubrication practices of others offering training etc. to ensure the equipment receives proper lubrication.Participate in the developing of PM’s by suggesting new tasks, changes and hours to complete those tasks to the planner and team leaderDevelop BDA’s with robust action plans and then complete those plans. Follow up and participate on other BDA’s being handled by other Techs that have an impact on your assigned line.Contribute by participating with the AM team and performing tasksCorrect unsafe and quality issues and conditions asap and monitor these logs to ensure completion progress is timely Install, examine, inspect, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures PLC & PID controllers and pipe, and electrical systems and train other TechniciansTroubleshoot any mechanical or electrical problems using PLC, ladder diagrams, schematics, PID and or CMMS and train other TechniciansCycle equipment or system to ensure safe and correct operation, to be able to improve efficiency and effectiveness, quality and safety.Set up and safely operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts as neededMaintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion; always keeping work area clean.Operate a forklift and other heavy machinery whenever it is applicableAssist if necessary in preparation of the weekly maintenance work schedule in conjunction with the Maintenance management, staff and Operations Provides insight on the scope of all corrective work orders and orders for parts and materials to ensure the job is completed in a timely manner Assists the Maintenance Planner, Team Leader or Buyer and Peers with accomplishing the tasks at hand in a timely manner Works with Operations, and Maintenance management to identify areas of opportunity to schedule work during periods of downtime Participates in weekly, bi-weekly and monthly Predictive Maintenance functions such as vibration analysis, Infrared Scans & oil analysis to prevent unplanned breakdowns Prepares reports for the Maintenance team as necessary for compliance and budgetary requirements Support the plant’s efforts for continuous improvements) Assist with maintenance activities as needed but not limited to PM’s and repairs.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical / Mechanical background necessary
  • Apprenticeship program or technical background preferred
  • Above average computer skills including MS Word & MS Excel
  • 3-5 years of experience with computerized CMMS work order system preferred SKILLS AND ABILITITES :
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Procedures
  • Work with vendors to insure price and availability for maintenance operations
  • Proactively communicate with maintenance, operations and Plant Management in a cooperative and respectful manner to foster a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Support of Management Objectives and Policies
  • Willing and available to work overtime if requested or needed by the Maintenance Management Staff
  • Work willingly with co-workers and the management team to achieve department and company goals
  • Support co-workers and management in carrying out daily maintenance responsibilities Job Specifications : This section identifies the minimum job specifications required to perform the job. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Multi-craft / multi-skilled with expertise in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems, (including boiler systems, compressed air systems, water filtration, waste water treatment) and Refrigeration systems. Working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servo’s and plant automation systemsWorking knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules / regulations Previous experience with industrial controls using Allen Bradley control platforms, Motor Controls (Servo and VFD) a definite plusAbility to work various shifts Language Skills Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out routine reports, correspondence documents and to speak effectively when conveying information to other employees. Should have good oral / written communication skills and possess tact. Computer Skills Working knowledge of computer system input, retrieval and use or the ability to learn in a reasonable training period.Software including : Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentages and generate and interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form with several abstract and concrete variables.Safety Awareness – Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee and equipment safety.
