Position Overview
The Exact Sciences Strategy, Research & Insights team is responsible for identifying, defining, and driving innovative, immersive, and memorable customer-centric journeys for all our customers, across all channels (digital and physical).
The Research & Insights Intern will work closely with the Sr. Director, Strategy & Insights, Assoc. Director, Research & Insights, UX Researchers, and Market Researchers to assist as they 1) define, 2) execute, and 3) analyze research within the Marketing organization.
The definition of projects may include joining intake meetings with stakeholders who have requested research to listen to their needs and take notes. While a researcher will lead these meetings, the Intern may contribute to crafting a research plan that reflects the meeting discussion.
The execution of projects may include programming the research instrument used for unmoderated interviews or quantitative surveying, facilitating moderated interviews, or notetaking while a Researcher facilitates moderated interviews. Executing research also encompasses a number of research operations tasksCommentedto ensure the research goes smoothly, such as understanding participant recruiting and using the tools available to secure a relevant and unbiased set of participants.
The analysis of projects may include reflecting on the executed research to identify findings / insights, synthesize themes, and create impactful presentations tailored to the stakeholder audience (e.g., slide decks
versus text documents). The Intern will join readouts of the research and contribute as appropriate.
This internship may be site-based or remote.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following :
Support the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research that is impactful, cost-effective, and addresses business needs, including writing, programming, and analyzing surveys, and planning, moderating, and analyzing qualitative research interviews.
Support vendor-led execution of primary research (exploratory to evaluative; quantitative to qualitative, primary and secondary).
Support the synthesis of research results to prepare clear, compelling and impactful presentations.
Work closely with other members of the Strategy, Research & Insights team to build connections between existing and emerging insights, including connecting customer satisfaction data.
Participate in multiple Research & Insights projects in parallel.

Ability to work designated schedule.
Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and / or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
No travel required.
Preferred Talents and Interests
Familiarity with the purpose of and methods behind UX and / or Market research and Voice of the Customer programs.
Familiarity with or interest in assisting with the identification, planning, and execution of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Comfort with notetaking during interview sessions and synthesizing research results into clear presentations for stakeholders.
Existing knowledge or eagerness to learn about creating personas, user scenarios, storyboards, conceptual models, journey and experience maps, and / or other artifacts to help drive design vision and strategy.
Strong empathy for users, stakeholders, and colleagues.
Humility and eagerness to learn through observing others and receiving direct feedback.
Ability to create and organize files in a manner that allows for quick retrieval and efficient updates.
Proficient with basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
