Job description

Grant Writer

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is seeking a Grant Writer to support programmatic funding.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify federal, state, and foundation grant opportunities aligned with AGO goals.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, intended outcomes, and narratives for applications.
  • Develop and write persuasive, compliant grant proposals and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather required data, statistics, and programmatic information.
  • Prepare detailed budgets, narratives, and justifications in alignment with grant guidelines and AGO internal policies.
  • Track and manage multiple grant application deadlines and submission processes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain a detailed grants calendar and track deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure applications comply with all grant guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals submitted, awarded, declined, and pending.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Finance / Accounting, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Four to five years of relevant work experience; previous grant experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with grants management platforms is a plus.
