As a Shipper and Receiver, you will play a critical role in the logistics operations by ensuring that steel products are loaded, unloaded, and stored efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts and supporting warehouse operations with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

• Load and unload steel products from box trucks and flatbeds using forklifts.
• Package products securely and label shipments accurately.
• Inventory incoming products using spreadsheets and ERP systems.
• Move and store products throughout the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and perform cycle counts.
• Operate wrapping machines and pallet jacks.
• Assist with 5S and continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing.
• Deliver materials to production areas and stock PPE kits.
• Handle waste management tasks, including changing out resin totes and compactors.
• Maintain safety protocols and cleanliness in the warehouse.

Work Environment :

The position is situated in a warehouse environment where employees manage the movement, storage, and shipment of heavy materials. Workers operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, electric / manual pallet jacks, and wrapping machines. Safety is paramount, with a focus on adhering to OSHA standards, conducting daily equipment inspections, and maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace. Workstations must be cleaned before leaving, and areas are kept 'broom-clean' to prevent debris accumulation and pest hazards.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract position based out of Rumford, Rhode Island.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00 / hr.
