Job description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost cloud platform that powers thousands of businesses in over 190 countries. AWS’ Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement (ISCaP) organization works to deliver precise solutions to source, build and maintain our socially responsible data center supply chains. We are a team of highly-motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals who enable the core sustainable infrastructure of AWS. Come join our team and be a part of history as we deliver results for the largest cloud services company on Earth!

The AIS-SC Storage and Memory team is looking for a results-oriented individual to own supplier engagement/strategy for the growing set of storage-adjacent components, specifically UFS, CXL, switches, and networking storage gear. This individual will own the supply strategy and relationship with multiple Storage component suppliers and will interact with engineering to coordinate ramp and launch of new components within AWS offerings. Our Global Supply Managers are (or become) experts in their industries and help drive the explosive growth of AWS.

General Work Activities:

- Conduct weekly alignment meetings with Storage Components suppliers to review AWS supply forecasts, address constraints, and resolve supply timing and commitment gaps;

- Prepare weekly supply heat maps identifying potential shortages and quantifying production impact; deliver status updates to cross-functional stakeholders including demand planning, finance, engineering, and service teams to ensure alignment on constraints and mitigation progress

- Escalate critical supply constraints to senior management with detailed root cause analysis and resolution timelines; develop and execute contingency plans for high-risk scenarios including supply limitations, quality events, and demand upsides

- Prepare quarterly business reviews analyzing supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery, quality yields, and product mix flexibility

- Negotiate yearly MOUs and supply agreements based on S&OP demand, defining annual volume commitments, product mix allocations, and quarterly supply quantities to secure favorable terms and supply continuity

- Partner with finance and accounting teams on quarterly budget allocation, purchase order placement, E&O risk assessment, and supplier invoice reconciliation to ensure timely payments and accurate financial records

Function Specific Work Activities:

- Analyze quarterly S&OP demand forecasts, reconcile against on-hand inventory and supplier commitments, and develop regional supply distribution strategies across global VMI hubs and ODMs to address supply-demand gaps and prevent regional imbalances

- Execute weekly allocation decisions distributing Storage Components across VMI hubs and ODM/CM sites based on production plans, qualified SKUs, regional priorities, and inventory aging; coordinate hub-to-hub transfers to optimize utilization

- Collaborate with service teams, engineering, and suppliers to identify requirements for new platforms; ensure next-generation Storage Components are qualified before current-generation EOL; establish multi-sourcing strategies for each server platform to mitigate supply risk

- Monitor rack integrator pull signals and adjust delivery schedules in coordination with logistics teams; participate in weekly planning meetings to confirm component availability; investigate BOM discrepancies and support quality issue investigations including RMA processes

- Coordinate expedite requests during shortage scenarios; communicate supply constraints and delivery commitments to internal customers and service teams; evaluate trade-offs between SKUs based on overall AWS demand requirements and production impact to determine optimal allocation priorities

A day in the life
You will be working closely with multiple Storage component suppliers to plan supply of critical materials used across all server and networking racks. You will partner with engineering to develop and launch new platforms, drive second sourcing strategies, implement buffer plans, and manage inventory to target levels to drive optimal cost and supply supportability strategies. In this role you will be looking at "what's next" on the technology roadmap so you can build a supply strategy to support it.

About the team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, trusted by startups to Global 500 companies to power their businesses. You will join a team of highly capable sourcing and supply chain managers with diverse industry experience. We focus heavily on automation, tools creation, and diving deeper into supply chain and product design with engineering and ODM partners. We empower team members to be "builders" while taking ownership of their space. AWS values diverse experiences, work-life harmony, inclusive culture, and continuous mentorship to help you grow into a future leader.
