The G&A Org @ Pave

The G&A pillar of Pave includes our finance, legal, people, and recruiting teams. This community is responsible for the operational health of our business and ensuring every employee has the tools and support they need to be successful. As the backbone of Pave's platform, our G&A teams enable us to scale efficiently while maintaining compliance in the complex compensation landscape. The finance team ensures capital allocation aligns with our growth strategy, while legal safeguards our innovative compensation data products.

Meanwhile, our people and recruiting teams implement the same compensation philosophy we champion for our clients, attracting and retaining top talent through transparent, competitive, and equitable pay practices. The People Team @ Pave

The People team is at a pivotal moment - we're rebuilding our people function from the ground up to support our next phase of growth from 150 to 500+ employees. The team will be focused on designing and implementing scalable people operations that balance analytical rigor with genuine care for the employee experience, seeing every touchpoint as an opportunity to build something meaningful. Our people team thrives in ambiguity, views inefficiencies as opportunities for improvement, and understands that creating elegant people processes is fundamentally about empowering teams to do their best work.

What You'll Do

  • Build the foundation of people operations from scratch : Design and implement scalable people processes, systems, and programs across the entire employee lifecycle - from onboarding new hires to optimizing performance management and creating meaningful off-boarding experiences
  • Own HR systems and technology infrastructure : Manage and administer our HRIS, ensure data integrity across all people systems, lead automation initiatives to eliminate manual processes, and own people analytics and reporting that drives strategic decision-making
  • Drive operational excellence and compliance : Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, maintain accurate employee records and documentation, oversee benefits administration and leave management, and manage vendor relationships (benefits, HRIS, etc.)
  • Shape employee experience and engagement : Design comprehensive onboarding programs that reflect Pave's culture and values, coordinate engagement initiatives and surveys, support performance management cycles, and partner with leadership on culture-building initiatives that scale with our growth
  • Lead strategic people initiatives : Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational design, develop and track key people metrics and KPIs, identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies, and implement industry best practices for fast-growing tech companies
  • Build for scale while remaining scrappy : Document and standardize HR processes that can grow with company growth, lead cross-functional projects that improve the employee experience, and maintain the flexibility to adapt quickly as business needs evolve
  • Provide hands-on people support : Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns, guide managers through difficult conversations and performance issues, coordinate internal communications and company-wide initiatives, and ensure every employee feels supported throughout their journey at Pave

What You'll Bring

Technical Skills

  • HRIS Expertise : Proficiency with platforms like Rippling / HiBob, CultureAmp or similar
  • Data Analysis : Advanced Excel / Google Sheets, basic SQL preferred
  • Process Design : Lean / Six Sigma methodologies beneficial
  • Compliance Knowledge : Understanding of employment law, GDPR as applicable
  • Project Management : Experience with Asana or similar tools
  • Behavioral Competencies

  • Systems Thinking : Ability to see interconnections and design holistic solutions
  • Detail Orientation : Meticulous attention to data accuracy and process documentation
  • Communication : Clear written and verbal communication across all levels
  • Problem-Solving : Creative approach to operational challenges
  • Adaptability : Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Experience Requirements

  • 5 years+ in People Operations, HR Operations, or similar role
  • Experience with company scaling (ideally 50-500 employees)
  • Track record of successful process improvements
  • Experience with multiple HR systems implementations

    Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental, and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. This salary range may include multiple levels.

    $174,250 - $235,750

    Since being founded in 2019 Pave has grown globally. We're based across our HQ in San Francisco's FiDi neighborhood, Flatiron in NYC and regional hubs in Salt Lake City and the United Kingdom. We embrace a high-energy, collaborative in-person work environment at these locations, operating on a hybrid schedule that brings teams together in-office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
