Accounts Payable Specialist - Springfield, MO

Penmac Staffing is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a client company in Springfield, Missouri. This is a great opportunity for someone with accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of related accounting, accounts payable, or office experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions
• Experience with CSD software is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy before payment
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Process customer and vendor credits
• Index and maintain accounts payable records
• Answer and resolve branch inquiries related to accounts payable, customer accounts, inventory, returns, and credits
• Verify inventory purchases made by company credit card
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
