Work Study Student - Financial Aid - Research & Data Analyst - UWCE (Spring 2026)

Job Summary

The Work Study Student will support the Office of Financial Aid as a Research & Data Analyst on the Armstrong Campus beginning Spring 2026. The Research & Data Analyst plays a hands-on role in maintaining and enhancing United Way of the Coastal Empire's 211 resource database.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

• Conducts targeted research to collect and verify accurate data used by professionals and community members across the region
• Initiates communication with agency partners to gather and confirm resource information
• Identifies and document new agencies or programs not yet listed in the database
• Research community impact best practices to identify programs that could align with UWCE's strategic plan. Updated: November 2025 Data & Database Management
• Assists in generating reports and analyzing trends related to service usage, gaps, and community needs
• Contributes to data quality assurance efforts, including record cleanup and maintenance
• Supports efforts in data visualizations as needed
• Supports with historical recordkeeping efforts as needed
• Supports with 211 client data entry as needed
• Supports the development of internal documentation or tools that enhance resource accuracy and referral effectiveness
• Helps develop and maintain an internal standard operating procedure repository
• Helps map out workflows to support systems development
• Supports with any site visit planning and execution as needed
• Assists with UWCE special projects and events to gain exposure to broader organizational initiatives
• Supports intern training, onboarding, and engagement efforts as part of human resource coordination for UWCE's internship program
• Alerts supervisor to significant barriers, changes, gaps, or challenges in the delivery of services, proposing solutions for continuous improvement
• Performs additional tasks as assigned by Community Impact Group leadership

Shift Specifics

• Up to 15 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

• Off-campus location with the United Way of the Coastal Empire

• Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00PM

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

• Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Experience in research
• Familiarity with SharePoint, database platforms, pivot tables, and dashboards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Proficiency in database

Preferred Education

• Undergraduate juniors and seniors are preferred, but not required

Proposed Salary

$15.00 per hour
