Pay Rate : $40-45+ per hour, based on level of experience
A leading precision machining manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support complex, high-tolerance component production. This role focuses on creating efficient CNC programs, designing fixtures, and optimizing machining processes for both new and existing products.
Responsibilities :
- Program and optimize CNC machining operations using Mastercam based on detailed part drawings and specifications.
- Set up and run vertical CNC mills to complete operations such as drilling, milling, contouring, and tapping.
- Determine the best tools, cutting parameters, and materials to achieve precision and efficiency.
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform first-article and in-process inspections using precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Diagnose and correct machining or programming issues to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
- Follow all safety and housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing methods and resolve technical challenges.
Requirements :
High school diploma or GED required; technical training in CNC machining or programming preferred.Proven background as a CNC Programmer / Machinist with strong Mastercam proficiency.In-depth understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications accurately.At least 5 years of hands-on experience with 3- and / or 5-axis CNC programming and operation.Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment for quality verification.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail skills.Able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Familiarity with additional CAD / CAM software is advantageous.Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
