Overview
Manufacturing Engineer - Automation Systems & Reliability at GE Aerospace. This cross-functional role focuses on identifying and implementing process improvements and problem solving using digital solutions to drive data-driven decisions for machine and process health and improvements. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing process and equipment knowledge with entry to mid-level skills in programming, database queries, and computer applications.
Responsibilities
- Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel in a self-directed workforce (Teaming) environment
- Program and maintain robotic and control systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Provide hardware and software systems engineering support for a wide range of existing measurement, control, and test systems; support Quality and Manufacturing personnel in continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Tech, and Quality Support Teams :
- Network all available machines to include in OEE uptime
- Develop and implement machine data-driven preventative maintenance strategies supporting the elimination of waste within the maintenance activities for connected assets
- Manage and support issues with DNC program transfer, serving as the focal for engaging DT or internal support groups when necessary
- Monitor, analyze, identify, and implement performance improvements to increase the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing processes, including reducing cycle times
- Track and analyze OEE data to identify areas for improvement
- Stay current with the latest technologies and advancements to ensure systems are up-to-date and operating at optimal levels
- Provide training and support to operators, maintenance, and technical personnel as needed
- Confer with production team, management, quality engineering, and other support staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Support the lean and cultural transformation vision
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)Desired Characteristics
