Medical Assistant, Cardiology - Amherst
This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties. Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow. Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
Work Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Able to organize changing work assignments. Medical terminology knowledge (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
