Purchasing Manager | Muskegon, MI Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding opportunity in {{role_field}}? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Muskegon seeking Purchasing Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery. Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers for raw materials and components. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements. Collaborate with production and planning departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply. Ensure all purchased materials and services comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to mitigate risks and identify new opportunities. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing setting. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills with a track record of cost savings. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Bonus Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Proficiency with advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis and forecasting. Experience with international logistics and import/export regulations.
